Linneys

Shining light on the studio behind the spectacular.

Linneys has defined a uniquely Western Australian style of jewellery. Combining traditional techniques with manufacturing technology, the studio crafts unmistakable ‘wearable art’ of local gold, pearls and diamonds. We were commissioned by Linneys’ Creative Director – the founder’s son – to produce the key heritage piece of its 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The Story of Linneys Jewellery Est. 1972 traces the journey of Alan Linney from his apprenticeship and work as a goldsmith in a replica mining village, through to his leadership of a nationally awarded family business.

The book is divided into decades – each chapter beginning with the contextual scene of culture and fashion, and concluding with a celebrated ‘Piece of the Decade’.

This narrative is interspersed with special features on materials, the jeweller’s process, marketing campaigns through the years, and its significant philanthropic contributions.

Launched at the anniversary gala dinner, the book has become a collector’s item for enthusiasts of the Linneys brand, selling for $100 as part of its merchandise range.

Outcome.

After 50 years of business, it is fantastic to capture it all in one book – especially the elements that are important to our family. Churchill Press facilitated the process, giving structure to a large task of looking through the archives and deciding which stories to highlight. We wanted to document the progression of the brand and highlight Alan’s amazing journey from goldsmith to entrepreneur. The end result is something we are pleased to showcase to our staff, both long-term and new, as well as our customers.”
