Robert Trent Jones Jr is a renowned golf course architect who has his mark on over 270 courses globally. One of these, Coolum Resort, featured in the first book we produced for/with lifestyle brand Golf’s Great Walks (GGW), Queensland’s Finest.
GGW had recognised a niche for authentic collections beyond clichéd ‘Top 10s’, and we explored the idea of an architect’s monograph.
The timing was perfect for Jones, and he introduced us to his global network of courses. Making contact at all hours, we curated a shortlist of 18 who would underwrite the project for their inclusion in a prestigious group.
Each course profile features three signature holes, including stunning photography and maps specially drawn by our team.
Jones was at the frontier of course design in China, and it was important to produce a dual-language edition – possibly the first coffee table publication on golf with Chinese text.
The books were warmly received by the participating clubs, who distributed them exclusively to golf lovers around the world.
